TsKV Rotating Stabilizer

Application

With large contact area of the drill string in a wellbore due to its complex profile, rotary table is exerted with excessive torque, and top drive complicates drilling, facilitating wear of the drilling tool and inappropriate operation of the downhole tools.
With considerable length, HWDP becomes distorted resulting in uneven string rotation and deterioration of weight transmission on the bit.

TsKV rotating string stabilizer has been designed to these ends:

To improve operation of HWDP and increase its durability;
To minimize contact area of pipes with wellbore walls;
To prevent development of keyseats;
To restrain lateral deformation of pipes;
To stabilize the drill string, and;
To reduce wear of drill pipe tool joint, radial and axial vibrations (up to 25-35%), and thus probability of BHA failure.

Design

Rotating string stabilizer is an alloy steel tubular, consisting of a sub, a body, friction discs, O-rings and balls. A special grease fills the space between the sub and the body to enhance stabilizer durability. The tool has box tool joint at the top and pin tool joint at the bottom, and also a watercourse to maintain circulation. Required number of the stabilizers depends on length of deviated or horizontal interval of the wellbore.
