Application

The Near-Bit Shock Sub is used to damp vibrations appearing in the drill string and to damp tremors and shocks, affecting on the string during oil and gas wells drilling.

Design

The Near-Bit Shock Sub construction provides effective work of diverse combinations of weight on the drill bit and pressure differences of flushing fluid. Vibrations are damped by set of bellevible springs, which give the optimal rigidity of shock sub and allow to apply high axial load.

Shock subs fulfil following functions:
• Reduce number of accidents due to drill string breakdown.
• Increase operational life of drillbit and arrangement components of drill string bottom part.
• Allow increasing the drilling rate, hence time of well construction shortens.
• Protect top drive system from drilling string pulsation.
