Application
MSZ tool joint taper tap internally engages and retrieves a drill pipe from a well by tapping into its tool joint.
Design
The taper tap is a tube section made of alloy steel. It has thread connection at the upper end, and external wickers, carburized and quenched, at the lower end. Lengthwise flutes across the wickers facilitate the tapping.
The taper tap has a watercourse for fluid circulation.
The taper tap is used for retrieval of drill pipes with damaged/flared tool joint.
